Pioneer appoints Denise Cea Katz as Vice President of Business Development

Pioneer Underwriters (‘Pioneer’) announces the immediate appointment of Denise Cea Katz as Vice President, Business Development. Denise will report directly to Gene Hinman, Chief Executive Officer of Pioneer’s US underwriting platform, Pioneer Special Risk (PSR) and will be based in New York.

Denise brings over 25 years of insurance and reinsurance experience and was most recently Director of Global Business Development at Markel Corporation, identifying areas of growth optimization for the Global Insurance Division across regions and broker specialties. Prior to joining Markel, Denise was a reinsurance broker at Aon Benfield, having started her career at General Re.

Denise will lead marketing and business development efforts to promote the individual and collective underwriting offering of PSR. Denise will also be responsible for enhancing US distribution across all of Pioneer’s business lines as part of the group’s global expansion strategy.
