Paul W. Springman to Chair Board of Pioneer Underwriting Holdings Inc. as United States growth strat

Pioneer Underwriters is pleased to announce that Paul W. Springman will take up the role of Non-Executive Chairman of the board of Pioneer Underwriting Holdings Inc., the US based holding company overseeing Pioneer’s expanding underwriting operations in the United States. The appointment is effective immediately. The role will include chairing the Pioneer Underwriting Holdings Inc. Board and committee meetings for all Pioneer’s US entities.
Mr. Springman brings extensive independent commercial and underwriting expertise to the board of Pioneer Underwriting Holdings Inc., following an impressive career in which he held senior US and international underwriting roles. Most significantly, prior to his retirement in 2010, Mr. Springman was President and Chief Operating Officer of Markel Corporation, following a 25 year career with the carrier. Mr. Springman started his insurance career with Continental Insurance Company and Berkshire Hathaway.
