Gene Hinman is President of Pioneer U.S. Delegated our cross-class, multi-line delegated platform offering accessibility to US agencies and markets. Gene and his team operate as expert builders and managers of MGA portfolios. Their function is twofold.

First, as builders of portfolios, they have developed a tremendous base of knowledge and relationships with the very best MGAs in the U.S. and will continue to do so. Their due diligence process is tremendously thorough, sometimes taking years before they select the best in class MGAs within specific specialty niches. Over the years they reviewed hundreds of MGAs to select only a few of the very best as trading partners. This up front selection process is partly responsible for the far better than industry results they are able to maintain.

Second, they are expert managers of this business. These activities include but are not limited to CAT modeling and PML optimization, the design and enforcement of underwriting guidelines, underwriter training, regular (quarterly) underwriting and financial audits, the monitoring of loss trends and emerging factors in litigation by specific geography, rate and pricing analysis, etc. Basically, all the activities which, when done correctly, make for an extremely profitable MGA book.

Partnering with Pioneer Underwriting Management offers you an extremely efficient and effective way of building a large, profitable portfolio of MGA business in a short period of time.

Gene has 29 years Insurance Industry experience and has held a wide variety of underwriting, sales and marketing and management positions in branch, regional and home office environments on both the broker and carrier sides. He graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a degree in Business Administration and Management, specializing in Finance and has completed the Executive Program at the Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University.

Formerly Senior Vice President and U.S. Manager for U.S. MGA business at AXIS, Gene and his team assembled and managed a very large, diversified book of business which enjoyed long term, industry leading results."
