Pioneer’s Erik Johnson named CII’s unsung hero 2019
Pioneer’s Head of Syndicate Management & European Distribution, Erik Johnson, was recently awarded the Unsung Hero of the Year Award at the annual
CII awards ceremony held in York on 26th June.
The award is about recognising, rewarding and celebrating the significant contribution of an individual who looks out for the community of insurance and
personal finance practitioners and members in everything they do. According to the CII, the winner has a proven initiative that has made life
better for those in the profession and demonstrated a commitment to helping others whilst proving a passion for the profession.
Having spent the last 8 years in the London insurance market, working for Lloyd’s, Allied World and now Pioneer, Erik has always been heavily involved
in market initiatives that promote positive change around diversity and inclusion. He helped found and currently sits on the Steering Committees of
Inclusion@Lloyd’s where he leads their Partner Network initiative and The Insurance Ability, Disability, & Wellbeing Network (“iDAWN”). Erik was
instrumental in the establishment of The LGBT Insurance Network(“Link), The Insurance Cultural Awareness Network (“iCAN”), and the Inclusion &
Diversity Committee of the Insurance Institute of London. Erik also sits on the Executive and Nominations Committees of the Insurance Institute of
London is a Chartered Insurance Institute National Forum Officer representing London.
